Alerts

Configuration --> Alerts

Here you can configure DSLstats to send email alerts to you when certain events occur.

Alerts configuration

Alerts

Alerts can be sent to an email adress or to the event log (or both).

Triggers

Various events can trigger alerts. Tick the ones which you want to use, and enter the threshold values as necessary. When one of the triggers passes its threshold value, an alert message is sent, and the current value of the data becomes the new threshold for that item. If you stop recording, or a re-sync occurs, the threshold values are all reset to the values entered here. If you edit one of the threshold values, that threshold is reset to the new value which you entered.

The item "SNRM returns to more than:" is a special case. This item can be triggered only after a low SNRM alert has been sent. When the SNRM recovers to the value entered here, a new alert is sent and the SNRM trigger threshold is reset to its original value.

Keep trigger levels at the values set here

When this option is set, the trigger levels don't change to the new value when an alert is sent, but remain at the configured values.

Email details

Enter the email address to which the alerts should be sent, and the subject of the alert messages.

SMTP server, Username, Password

These are the same details as you would enter into an email client program for sending emails. If your email service doesn't require a login for sending emails, you can leave the Username and Password boxes blank.

UseTLS/SSL

Tick this option if your email service uses a TLS login (e.g. gmail). Set the port number to the required value.

Note: On the Raspberry Pi (using Raspbian) you need to install the package libssl-dev for TLS emails to work.

Test button

After completing the details, if you press this button a test alert message will be sent to the configured address. This will confirm (or not) that the configuration is correct.
